Indonesian Semeru volcano erupted, scattering warm clouds up to 4.5 kilometers away. The volcano, 3,676 meters high, is the highest on the island of Java, the most populated in Indonesia. There were no immediate evacuations, but the National Agency for Disaster Mitigation has warned people living in villages on the slopes of the mountain telling them to be careful.
