A record amount of snow has fallen in Madrid. The disturbance, called ‘Filomena’ caused three victims. However, in the capital there are those who have tried to take advantage of the snowfall for a bit of fun: “Not every day you can ski through La Puerta del Sol so it’s a pleasure to try this occasion “explains a Madrilenian on skis.

Some troops from the Spanish Military Emergency Unit have been deployed at Madrid International Airport to help remove the heavy snow brought by storm Filomena. The national meteorological agency reported that snowfall in Madrid has reached a level never seen in half a century, with over 50 centimeters of snow.
