(LaPresse) – In the small village of Kyamanka in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, the Russian occupation has left ruins and mourning. Only 10 of the village’s 1,200 inhabitants remain, and the area is littered with landmines. Kyamanka was taken by Moscow forces in late February, at the beginning of the invasion. The inhabitants had been isolated since March, without cell phones, heating and electricity. They were surprised when Ukrainian soldiers liberated the village on September 10.
