Trapped for 30 hours the children were winched up to a helicopter

(LaPresse) They were stuck for 30 hours in a narrow canyon in Utah: a group of boys on a school trip were saved by police and rescue workers.  Search teams worked through the night in the narrow ravines of Sandthrax Canyon, east of Capitol Reef National Park. The operation was particularly difficult and lasted several hours: in all 17 children and two adults were recovered by helicopter and winch.
