Rome, 8 Nov. (LaPresse) – “I must thank the lads because they put in a strong performance, and it wasn’t easy following the defeats to Juventus and Porto. We faced some difficulties in the first half, but we had our chances. We did much better in the second half, and now we’ll have a few players back after the international break. The fact that the team has pulled together is a small building block we’ve laid. We struggled a bit in the first half, but then the team put in a good second-half performance.” So said Max Allegri, Napoli’s manager, speaking to DAZN after the draw with Lazio. “We were crossing from the left and I asked Lang to aim for the far post, because McTominay could be more useful there. Vergara was marked very tightly by Nuno Tavares, so I moved McTominay to the left to make the most of Lang’s crosses. We absolutely must keep going, because we’re behind in the table but all is not lost. We need to work with confidence; we’re not out of any competition yet. There are moments like these that need to be faced with composure,” he added. “The fans have been very supportive of the team again today; all I can tell them is that the team is giving it their all. This break comes at just the right time; I know what the lads are capable of. How am I doing? When we’re in the middle of a storm, the ship must be steered into port,” he concluded.
