Turin, 4 Nov. (LaPresse) – Novak Djokovic has been knocked out in the second round of the Paris Masters 1000, currently being played on the indoor courts of ‘La Défense Arena’, and has seen his hopes of qualifying for the ATP Finals – scheduled to begin on 15 November – dashed. The Serbian tennis player was defeated in three sets by the Australian Rinky Hijkata, ranked 83rd in the ATP rankings, with a score of 6-2, 3-6, 3-6 in two hours and 16 minutes of play. To stand a chance of being among the eight ‘masters’ who will compete in Turin, Djokovic needed to reach at least the semi-finals. As well as the Serb, Daniil Medvedev has also been knocked out of the French tournament, having been beaten in two sets by the Peruvian Ignacio Buse, 6-4, 6-4.
