Munich, Oct. 29 (LaPresse) – Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany was discharged from hospital today after being hospitalized for five days due to meningitis. The club’s sporting director, Max Eberl, revealed the news to broadcaster ARD. “I think this is the most important and best news for all of us,” he said on the sidelines of the match against Magdeburg in the round of 32 of the German Cup. “We have found out what it is: an inflammation of the meninges that caused Friday’s episode.” The 40-year-old Belgian coach had contracted a viral infection about ten days ago before feeling unwell on Friday after the first team’s training session.
