Milan, 14 Sept. (LaPresse) – Sassuolo beat Juventus 3–2 in the late kick-off of Matchday 4 of Serie A. A goal from former Juventus player Adzic proved decisive in the closing stages of a mad match. The first half was a tale of two halves: Juve hit the crossbar early on through Nico Gonzalez, then controlled the game for around twenty minutes without, however, finding the net. In the latter stages of the half, Sassuolo came to life and came close to taking the lead themselves through Doig, whose shot from close range struck the side netting. Early in the second half, Juve threatened again through Alajbegovic, whilst Sassuolo responded through Berardi, who also came close to scoring. It was Sassuolo who continued to press during this phase. Spalletti brought on Woltemade and Zhegrova for Nico and Conceicao, but it was Alajbegovic again who tested the Neroverdi goalkeeper from distance. However, it was Sassuolo who took the lead through Esposito, who clinically slotted past Vicario with a diagonal shot following an assist from Matic. Juve poured forward in search of an equaliser, which arrived in the 82nd minute courtesy of Zhegrova. The excitement didn’t end there, because after Juve had squandered two chances, it was Sassuolo who found the net through Bowie. Spalletti’s side refused to give up and, once again through the unstoppable Zhegrova, levelled the score at 2–2. Finally, in the 94th minute, Sassuolo scored the winning goal through Adzic on the counter-attack.
