Julio Velasco’s Azzurre beat Bulgaria 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-13) in the round of 16 of the CEV Trendyol EuroVolley 2026 and secure their place in the quarter-finals, continuing their run in the continental competition. In the splendid setting of Pavilion P at the BVV in Brno, Italy overcame a solid and well-organized Bulgaria, the third national team in the entire European Championship with the lowest average age at 23.61 years, and secured their sixth consecutive victory since the start of the tournament. After a perfect run in Pool D played in Gothenburg, they have now also claimed their first victory in the knockout stage.
