Rome, 29 Aug. (LaPresse) – “It was difficult being away from tournaments, staying at home watching the matches. But I needed a rest. Fortunately, I’m feeling much better now.” So said Jasmine Paolini to SuperTennis ahead of the US Open, where she is making her comeback after a month out due to an injury to her left foot. “We tried to rest as much as possible and then focus on training in the gym – everything we could do,” she explains. “We arrived here a bit early, trying to adapt better to the courts. I’m doing quite well; I’m trying to get into the rhythm as much as possible. It won’t be easy, but I’m trying to stay positive.” Marc Lopez is back on her team: “I’ve always had a good relationship with him,” Paolini notes. “We’ve kept in touch ever since last year, and he’s full of energy, so I’m pleased he’s back on my team. We’ll see how things go; I like him and I’m happy to have him on my team because, in my opinion, he’s someone who can help me a lot.”
