Rome, Aug. 5 (LaPresse) – Gianni Infantino has summoned FIFA officials for a meeting in Morocco on Wednesday, after another day in which the president had to face fierce criticism over his plan, later abandoned, to sell FIFA’s commercial activities and events. Arsène Wenger, FIFA’s head of global football development, Secretary General Mattias Grafstrom and Prince Ali, president of the Jordan Football Association, have all clearly expressed their opposition to Infantino’s FIFA Forward Enterprise. Infantino, who has been in Morocco for a week, has called an executive board meeting in Rabat in an attempt to find a solution to the controversy. According to information obtained by BBC Sport, Grafstrom and several FIFA board members will attend the meeting, including Chief Financial Officer Thomas Peyer, Chief Legal Officer Emilio Garcia Silvero, Chief of Staff Daniel O’Toole, Head of Member Associations Elkhan Mammadov and Director of Media Relations Bryan Swanson.
