Rome, 29 July (LaPresse) – Harsh and merciless judgements from the foreign media on Roberto Mancini’s return to the Azzurri dugout. “Italy is committed to self-destruction,” writes the Spanish daily *As*, whilst *L’Équipe* criticises the entire management: “Scandals, resignations and then the triumphant return: behind the scenes of Roberto Mancini’s appointment as manager of the Italian national team”. The French newspaper describes it as “a saga that is at times farcical”, whilst the British Guardian refers to “confusion of epic proportions”. For Bild, too, “there is chaos in the search for a manager. Now Mancini is expected to save Italy”. For the Argentine newspaper Olé, Mancini’s arrival “is a breath of fresh air amidst the chaos”.
