Milan, 27 July (LaPresse) – Italy has won the gold medal in the women’s foil at the World Fencing Championships in Hong Kong. The final of the individual event will see Martina Favaretto and Arianna Errigo face off in an all-Italian clash. In the first semi-final, Favaretto, the number 1 seed, beat Japan’s Yuka Ueno 14–11. Next, the ever-reliable Arianna Errigo, the number 2 seed, defeated Ukraine’s Alina Poloziuk 15–7 in the other semi-final.
