Turin, 24 July (LaPresse) – Yet another feat by Tadej Pogacar. The Slovenian champion has won the 19th stage of the Tour de France, the 128-km leg from Gap with an uphill finish on the legendary Alpe d’Huez, further extending his lead over his rivals in the general classification. The yellow jersey holder has thus claimed his fifth stage win in this edition of the Grande Boucle, crossing the line alone after catching up with Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) and Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost), who finished second and third respectively, around 1.5 km from the summit. The UAE Team Emirates leader attacked almost at the start of the final climb, closing the gap of around three minutes on the day’s breakaway riders all by himself.
