Rome, 24 July (LaPresse) – Pep Guardiola will not be Italy’s national team manager. After a long period of consideration lasting around ten days, according to LaPresse, family commitments have taken precedence for the Catalan manager. The former Manchester City manager had indicated he was willing to discuss the project to revitalise the Italian national team with the Azzurri’s technical director, Paolo Maldini, and said he was flattered by the proposal from the new FIGC led by Giovanni Malagò. However, his decision to turn down the Azzurri’s offer is said to be due to his desire to devote some time to his family. The Italian Football Federation will now have to look for a new candidate.
