Milan, 24 July (LaPresse) – Charles Leclerc in his Ferrari set the fastest time in the first free practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix, with a time of 1’19″075. Towards the end of the session, however, the Monegasque driver had to stop early due to problems with his car. Second place went to Max Verstappen’s Red Bull, +0.484 behind, followed by Lewis Hamilton’s other Ferrari, +0.543 behind. George Russell’s Mercedes managed only fifth place, behind Isack Hadjar’s other Red Bull. It was a quiet morning for Kimi Antonelli, who remained in the pits whilst the young Danish driver Frederik Vesti took the wheel of his car and set the seventh-fastest time. The McLarens were also off the pace, with World Champion Lando Norris 11th, almost 2 seconds off the pace, whilst the young Italian Leonardo Fornaroli took to the track in place of Oscar Piastri, finishing 16th, 2.8 seconds behind Leclerc.
