Rome, 20 July (LaPresse) – There have been a few changes in the Italian rankings in the women’s world rankings published this morning by the WTA following the conclusion of the ‘250’ tournament in Athens and with the one in Iași due to finish today. Once again this week, there are two Italian players in the top 100. The Italian leader remains Jasmine Paolini: the 30-year-old from Bagni di Lucca, who dropped out of the top ten at the end of May (where she had remained continuously since 7 June 2024, following her run to the final at Roland Garros), is holding steady at number 15. Elisabetta Cocciaretto’s ranking also remains unchanged at number 68. Thanks to her run to the final of the ‘ATV Tennis Open’ (WTA 125), Lucia Bronzetti – who dropped out of the top 100 at the end of October 2025 – has climbed nineteen places to number 120. Lisa Pigato, meanwhile, has dropped one place to number 129, but remains at a career-high ranking. Compared with the previous rankings, Lucrezia Stefanini has moved up three places to number 142, whilst Tyra Caterina Grant has dropped seven places: the 18-year-old from Rome is now ranked 148th. In fourth place is her compatriot Coco Gauff, ahead of the 19-year-old Russian Mirra Andreeva in fifth place (her ‘best’ ranking confirmed). In sixth place is the Czech Karolina Muchova, who maintains her personal best, as does her compatriot Linda Noskova, the new Grand Slam champion, in seventh (just 49 points behind Muchova). In eighth place is Poland’s Iga Swiatek, just ahead of the third American in the top ten, Amanda Anisimova, in ninth, who is just two points ahead of Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina, in tenth, rounding off the world’s elite.
