Milan, 29 May (LaPresse) – Fabio Di Giannantonio set the fastest time in the first free practice session at the Italian Grand Prix, part of the MotoGP World Championship, at the Mugello circuit. The Italian rider, on the VR46 team’s Ducati, clocked a time of 1’46”242, finishing 0.369 seconds ahead of Spaniard Jorge Martin’s factory Aprilia and 0.438 seconds ahead of Japanese rider Ai Ogura’s Trackhouse Team machine. Pecco Bagnaia’s factory Ducati was only eighth, 0.729 seconds off the pace, whilst World Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi on Aprilia was a distant 14th, 1.173 seconds behind. Just behind him was the Ducati of the returning Marc Marquez, 15th, 1.177 seconds off the pace. MotoGP returns to the track at 3pm for the pre-qualifying session.
