Milan, 15 May (LaPresse) – ‘Yes, on Wednesday I received a contract extension offer from Benfica. The offer was handed to my agent, but I didn’t want to see it, find out about it or analyse it. I’ll only do that from Sunday onwards.’ This was stated by Benfica manager José Mourinho during a press conference, regarding his future at the helm of the Portuguese side. The Special One also clarified that he had not received any offer from Real Madrid. “As for Real Madrid, they never told me they had an offer to show me. Neither the president nor any key figure at the club. But if they had told me, I would have responded in exactly the same way,” Mourinho said, as reported by the local press. “Next week will be important for me, for my future and also for Benfica. When the season ends, Benfica will have to start thinking about the next one. But, according to the contract and the agreement I signed on my arrival, we have these few days to assess the situation and make a decision,” Mourinho concluded.
