Tennis, WTA Miami: Sabalenka triumphs, Gauff beaten in the final in three sets

Miami, Mar 29 (LaPresse) – Aryna Sabalenka confirms herself as the champion of the WTA Masters 1000 tournament in Miami. The Belarusian tennis player, world number one, defeated American Coco Gauff in the final with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in 2h11′ of play. Sabalenka thus also completes the so-called ‘Sunshine Double’, having already won the Indian Wells tournament. Sabalenka thus becomes the fifth tennis player in history capable of achieving the Sunshine Double. In the past, it was achieved by Steffi Graf in 1994 and 1996, Kim Clijsters in 2005, Viktoria Azarenka in 2016 and Iga Swiatek in 2022. For Sabalenka, it is the 24th WTA title of her career.
