Skiing: McGrath wins the Slalom Cup

Milan, 25 March (LaPresse) – Atle Lie McGrath has won the slalom cup following the final race of the Hafjell finals, putting his crushing Olympic disappointment behind him. The Norwegian finished on 584 points, 64 more than France’s Clément Noël and 73 ahead of Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, who failed to finish today’s race. The race was won by another Norwegian, Timon Haugan, with a time of 2’03‘75, 44 hundredths ahead of Loic Meillard and 1’03 ahead of Finland’s Eduard Hallberg. A good race for Tommaso Sala, who made up three places from 14th at the halfway stage to finish 11th overall, securing 19th place in the discipline standings for the Brianza native. Alex Vinatzer finished 17th, placing him 18th in the discipline standings.
