Basketball, Ricci: ‘The Italian women’s team are a source of inspiration; we’re also aiming for the 2027 World Cup’

Milan, 17 March (LaPresse) – “The women’s national team at the World Cup? They’re certainly doing brilliantly; they’re a huge source of inspiration. I’ve been following them and they really moved us after last year’s medal. They’re good for the sport; we need to talk more about basketball and women’s basketball, so they’re helping us a lot.” So said Olimpia Milano captain Pippo Ricci on the sidelines of the conference ‘Sport for personal and social growth’ organised by the Catholic University of Milan. “We want to try and emulate them because we too must qualify for the 2027 World Cup. We dream of that coveted medal. Seeing them triumph like that last year was thrilling and truly inspired us,” added the player, who also features for the Italian men’s national team.
