Milan, 13 March (LaPresse) – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has broken Wilt Chamberlain’s record for the most consecutive games in the NBA with at least 20 points, extending his streak to 127. The Oklahoma City Thunder guard made two free throws in the third quarter against the Boston Celtics, reaching 19 points. With the crowd on its feet, Gilgeous-Alexander then faked the shot several times and scored a jumper over Baylor Scheierman from beyond the free throw line with 7:04 left in the period, bringing his total to 21. Chamberlain’s record had stood since 1963. Gilgeous-Alexander finished the game with 35 points and nine assists, contributing to the Thunder’s 104-102 victory over the Celtics.
