Milan, 23 February (LaPresse) – Torino Football Club ‘is pleased to announce that it has appointed Roberto D’Aversa as manager of the first team. The coach has signed a contract until 30 June 2026’. D’Aversa was born on 12 August 1975 in Stuttgart, Germany. A former footballer who played as a midfielder, he began his professional career with Milan, the first stop on a journey that saw him wear the jerseys of Sampdoria, Pescara and Monza in Serie B, as well as Messina and Siena in the top flight. After retiring in 2013, D’Aversa embarked on a new professional path, initially taking on the role of Technical Director at Virtus Lanciano, a position that preceded his debut on the bench at the same club. In 2016, he moved to Parma, where he achieved a prestigious milestone: in two seasons, he took the Emilia-Romagna club from Serie C to Serie A, subsequently securing their survival and consolidating the team’s presence in the top flight. He then went on to coach Sampdoria, Lecce and Empoli in Serie A. “The whole club welcomes Roberto D’Aversa with the warmest of ‘Welcome to Torino! Good luck and always Forza Toro!’” reads the statement.
