Milan, 15 February (LaPresse) – Thanks to a goal from Pellegrino in stoppage time, Parma beat Verona 2-1 in a Serie A match on the 25th day of the season. Three crucial points for the Ducali, who now have 29 points, +8 above the relegation zone, and their second consecutive league victory. Hellas, on the other hand, remain stuck in last place with 15 points. Parma got off to a flying start at the Tardini, taking the lead after four minutes with their first shot on goal thanks to a delightful move by Bernabè who, served by Keita, stopped the ball with his left foot, lifted it slightly and volleyed it past Montipò with his left foot. Verona attempted a timid reaction but in the 11th minute were reduced to ten men after Orban was sent off for protesting. Parma controlled the game and came close to doubling their lead on a couple of occasions, but Montipò was equal to the task. Verona seemed to have their backs against the wall, but in the 43rd minute they surprisingly equalised when Harroui converted a penalty awarded for a foul by Circati on Bowie. The match remained spectacular in the second half, with Parma immediately coming close to scoring through Nicolussi Caviglia and Strefezza hitting the crossbar. The Ducali pressed forward and came close to scoring again through Ondrejka and Pellegrino. It was the Argentine centre forward who scored the winning goal in stoppage time with a header from Nicolussi Caviglia’s cross. It was the South American striker’s seventh goal of the season, fresh from renewing his contract.
