Milano-Cortina, Rizzo: “Winning a medal at home is indescribable”

Milan, Feb. 9 (LaPresse) – “Winning a medal at the Olympics means a lot, doing it at home is something indescribable. I really enjoyed myself, the team was incredible and supported me throughout the program. I reached the point of being in a trance, letting my emotions guide me and almost not hearing the music.” This is what Italian figure skater Matteo Rizzo said after winning the bronze medal in the team event at the Milan-Cortina Games. “I knew what I had to do to stay ahead of Georgia, I did it, and everything went the right way. We achieved something historic, I am satisfied,” he added. “To create this program we studied and made many mistakes, which pushed us to improve. An Olympic medal changes your life; two years ago, I didn’t even know if I would skate again,” Rizzo concluded.
