Milan, Jan. 2 (LaPresse/AP) – Victor Wembanyama’s knee injury, suffered by the French star of the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA, is less serious than expected. The Texas franchise has announced that, from the MRI scan he underwent, the 21-year-old did not suffer any ligament damage in his left knee. He will not play in his team’s game on Friday in Indiana against the Pacers, but a long spell on the sidelines has been ruled out. Wembanyama hyperextended his left knee with just under 11 minutes remaining in San Antonio’s 134–132 win over the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
