Skiing: Hector leads giant slalom in Semmering, Della Mea 9th and Goggia 11th

(LaPresse) – Ninth place for Lara Della Mea and eleventh for Sofia Goggia in the first run of the giant slalom in Semmering, Austria: halfway through the race, Sweden’s Sara Hector is in the lead with a time of 57‘15, just two hundredths of a second ahead of Austria’s Julia Scheib and 0’13 ahead of Lara Colturi. Lara Della Mea adapts well to the race conditions and finds a place in the provisional top ten, confirming her recent form between the wide gates, 1.44 seconds behind Hector. Just behind her, Goggia also has a good first run, but pays for a mistake on the steep section to finish in eleventh place, 1.47 seconds behind. The second run is at 1 p.m.
