2027 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, Italy with Sweden, Denmark and Serbia

Milan, 4 November (LaPresse) – Sweden, Denmark and Serbia will be Italy’s opponents in the qualifiers for the tenth edition of the World Cup, scheduled to take place in Brazil from 24 June to 25 July 2027. The draw, held today in Nyon in the presence of coach Andrea Soncin, mapped out the Azzurre’s path to the final stage of the World Cup, which will feature the winners of the four League A groups, as well as the seven national teams that will qualify through the double play-offs scheduled for the end of 2026 (an additional place will be up for grabs in the inter-confederation play-offs). Italy is aiming to finish top of the group, as it did in the EURO 2025 qualifiers, when it managed to edge out the Netherlands and Norway in a photo finish. Although the draw avoided a clash with defending champions Spain and European champions England, the Azzurre still face an obstacle course in which they will have to contend with the two Scandinavian teams, whom they faced a few months ago in the group stage of the second edition of the Nations League, and Serbia, ranked 35th in the FIFA rankings and ready to make their debut in League A of the competition.
