WTA Osaka, Cocciaretto stopped by Cristian in first round

Rome, Oct. 14 (LaPresse) – Nothing to do for Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the first round of the “Kinoshita Group Japan Open” on the hard courts of Osaka (WTA 250 – prize money $275,094). The 24-year-old from Fano, world No. 91, coming from the qualifiers, lost 6-2, 7-6 (7-4), in one hour and 53 minutes of play, to Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, No. 47 in the rankings, whom she had never faced before in her career.
