MotoGP: Bagnaia regains pole position in Japan

Milan, 27 September (LaPresse) – Francesco Bagnaia on Ducati secured his second pole position of the season in the Motul Grand Prix of Japan with a record lap time of 1:42.911 on the 4.8-kilometre Japanese track, characterised by sharp braking and decisive acceleration. Alongside him, thanks to the second fastest time in qualifying, will be Joan Mir, the real surprise of the session on the Honda RC213V, racing on home turf. Completing the front row will be championship leader Marc Marquez on the other Ducati. If he scores three more points than his brother Alex (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP), eighth after being promoted from Q1 following a complicated Friday, he will become world champion in the 17th of the 22 rounds scheduled this year. Fourth place went to Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) was fifth, followed by Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team), who set the fastest time in Q1. The third row will be led by Luca Marini (Honda HRC Castrol), seventh. Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing), who set the fastest time in practice yesterday, finished ninth. The Romagna rider finished behind his teammate Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse MotoGP Team), Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team).
