Maradona flies: Argentine tech mogul unveils a flying tribute to “Hand of God” soccer star

Flying museum dedicated to Argentine legend is filled with Maradona memorabilia

An Argentine tech entrepreneur has turned a 12-seat business jet into a flying museum honoring the late Argentine soccer star and World Cup winner Diego Maradona, who died of a heart attack in 2020.

The fuselage is painted with a portrait of Maradona kissing the World Cup trophy in 1986, The wings feature both of his goals from Argentina’s 2-1 victory over England in the 1986 World Cup quarter-final: the ‘Hand of God’ goal on the left wing, and the winner, a goal widely regarded as the greatest of all time, on the right.

“I am crazy about Maradona, one of those people who still watch videos of Diego before I go to sleep at night,” Gaston Kolker, chief executive of fintech company Give and Get, told the Reuters news agency. “This is the first World Cup without Maradona and maybe the last with (Lionel) Messi. I said, I want to make Diego’s plane.”
