Baylor became one of the N.B.A.’s greatest players of all the times
Hall of Fame Elgin Baylor died Monday, March 22, 2021 , of natural causes. He was 86.
Baylor was an 11-time All-Star and 10-time All-NBA selection during his 14 seasons with the Lakers from 1958 to 1971. Baylor followed his illustrious playing career with a decades-long tenure as LA Clippers general manager. “Elgin was THE superstar of his era — his many accolades speak to that,” Lakers owner Jeanie Buss said in a statement. In a statement, the Clippers called Baylor “a transcendent player, a beloved teammate, and a pioneering executive.” The team held a moment of silence for him prior to Monday night’s game at Staples Center.
