Little Mayah Zamora thus left San Antonio Hospital, Texas, where she had been hospitalized for more than two months (exactly 66 days). Last May 24, she had in fact been seriously injured in the massacre at the Uvalde Elementary School where 18-year-old Salvador Ronaldo Ramos killed 19 children and two teachers. Mayah, who recently turned 10, was the last of those injured still hospitalized.
“Today was a happy day at University Hospital! Our last patient from the Uvalde shooting, 10-year-old Mayah Zamora, was discharged! She crossed some roses and left in style. She is our hero and we can’t wait to see all that she will do in the future!” the Texas hospital wrote on Twitter.
