Rome, 3 Nov. (LaPresse) – “Initial investigations suggest that the impact of the attacks in Italy is currently very limited: only a few commercial premises have been affected, out of the thousands across the country, most of which are still equipped with obsolete security systems, with interfaces directly exposed to the internet and weaknesses in their authentication mechanisms. By contrast, the majority of the distribution chain is equipped with up-to-date security systems capable of repelling malicious intrusions.” This is stated in a press release issued by Palazzo Chigi following a meeting held at the government headquarters with the Under-Secretary to the Prime Minister, Alfredo Mantovano, and the Minister for Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida, and attended by the Director of the National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN) and the Directors of the intelligence agencies, following the cyber-attacks currently affecting certain commercial refrigeration systems across Europe.
