Rome, 28 Oct. (LaPresse) – “It is with deep sorrow that I have learnt of the tragic train accident that occurred a few hours ago near Toledo, claiming numerous lives. The thoughts of all Italians go out to the families of those who have lost their lives, to the injured – to whom we wish a speedy recovery – and to the teams involved in the rescue efforts. At a time of such profound mourning for the friendly Spanish people, I wish to convey to Your Majesty my most sincere condolences on behalf of the Italian Republic and express my personal sympathy.” This was written by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in a message sent to King Felipe of Spain.
