The Democratic Party – the Nazareno – has made it clear that, as far as they’re concerned, the ‘strongest party’ rule applies: the largest party that secures the most votes is given preferential treatment. You know us a little: we are the sort who fight our battles, not those who pre-emptively play into someone else’s hands. So we said: this is not possible because it is not in our nature and offers us no guarantees. It is not a personal issue with Elly Schlein, but we cannot pre-emptively place ourselves in the hands of another political force, be it the PD or any other party.
