Milan Mayor, La Russa: ‘I want a politician; I put Lupi’s name forward’

Milan, 18 April (LaPresse) – ‘Who will be the candidate for Mayor of Milan? Personally, I want a politician; I say this openly. Whilst I know a politician’s merits and demerits and can choose them knowing what I’m getting, a non-party candidate is either so good, so well-known and so capable that the name shines the moment you mention it, or it’s a leap in the dark; or we find a super non-party candidate, a Batman’ – otherwise it’s difficult. “I would like a politician. Did La Russa mention Lupi’s name? It’s true.” This was stated by the President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, speaking at the regional congress of Noi Moderati in Milan. “I believe that” the choice must be made “soon, and I’m pleased that the regional coordinators are meeting; it’s good that they’re all being assisted by a Milanese – here there’s only Alessandro Colucci,” he added.
