Seoul (South Korea), 19 Jan. (LaPresse) – During her visit to Seoul, the last stop on her mission to Asia, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung expressed their desire to ‘further strengthen ongoing cooperation, both bilaterally and in multilateral forums, in order to proactively contribute to maintaining international peace and security and addressing global challenges.’ This is according to the joint statement published on the Palazzo Chigi website. In this context, the two leaders expressed their willingness to cooperate in a number of areas. With regard to bilateral relations, the document explains, ‘building on shared values and principles, Korea and Italy have expressed their willingness to further strengthen their Strategic Dialogue as the primary platform for exchanging views and identifying synergies on major regional and global developments. To this end, they have decided to convene the next session of the Strategic Dialogue as soon as possible and to prepare a new bilateral Action Plan for the years 2026-2030, aimed at identifying the main objectives of bilateral cooperation’.
