Rome, 10 November (LaPresse) – “We have intervened in favour of low-income workers, reducing taxation on salary increases linked to contract renewals to 5%. Just think, this is a measure that the trade unions asked us for. A measure that CGIL asked us for. And how did CGIL respond? With a general strike. The seventh in three years. Strictly on a Friday, because we would never have a revolution on a Tuesday. We have it on a Friday. This shows that the content of the measures and, above all, workers’ rights are not exactly a priority for some.” This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the Teatro Team in Bari, during the election event with other coalition leaders in support of Luigi Lobuono, centre-right candidate for president in the regional elections in Puglia.
