Rome, 24 September (LaPresse) – “Minister Salvini never chooses to remain silent on the Middle East tragedy, which would be advisable at least in our country if we consider his indecent interview with an Israeli TV station. I say this because, looking at Meloni or Guido Crosetto, it seems that they have heard something about what is happening in the country in a more decisive way. I appreciate the decision to send a frigate from our Navy to join the Global Sumud Flotilla, even if it is still an insufficient gesture: we do not only need a mission of possible assistance, we need a mission of protection.” This was stated by Nicola Fratoianni on La7 during Tagadà. “Because we are facing yet another act of piracy and international terrorism. This is what we are talking about,” continued the SI leader, “half measures are not enough to describe what is happening. The point is that a government like ours must tell Israel that enough is enough: that this behaviour must stop, it cannot continue”. ‘And sending a military ship is the right choice, provided that the ship, in addition to providing assistance if needed, which we hope will not be the case, does its duty, because,’ concludes Fratoianni, ‘if more drones arrive to threaten the lives of the crew, those drones must be shot down somehow.’
