(LaPresse) At least 60 people were injured in the crush as they entered Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi to attend the swearing-in of Kenyan President William Ruto. Several were crushed in the crush. The most seriously injured were transported to Nairobi’s main hospital. William Ruto was sworn in by taking office as Kenya’s president following his narrow victory in last Aug. 9 elections, in which he beat opposition figure Raila Odinga. The Supreme Court in East Africa’s most stable democracy last week dismissed appeals that had been filed against the official results.
