Naples, 21 Oct. (LaPresse) – The fire service carried out over 370 call-outs in Liguria, Sardinia, Tuscany and Lazio in response to damage caused by bad weather, in particular fallen trees, flooding and rescues of motorists in difficulty. Last night in Siniscola, in the province of Nuoro, a family of five had to be evacuated after being trapped in their home by rising water. In Liguria, across the provinces of Genoa and Savona, the fire service carried out 100 call-outs to deal with fallen trees, flooding and the securing of unstable parts of buildings. In Celle Ligure, a boulder that had fallen onto the carriageway caused the closure of the Aurelia State Road 1 in both directions. In Sardinia, around 170 call-outs were carried out, mainly in the provinces of Nuoro, Oristano and Sassari, to deal with flooding, fallen trees and to assist motorists in difficulty. In Tuscany, fire brigade teams responded on the island of Elba and along the Livorno coastline to deal with damage caused by heavy rainfall. In Lazio, the most serious incidents were reported in the provinces of Rome and Latina, where operations are currently underway to deal with flooding, fallen trees and the removal of hazardous obstacles.
