Rome, 9 Sept. (LaPresse) – The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office is preparing to request the extradition of Gomes Tavares, a Cameroonian national on the run in Africa who is believed to be the intermediary between Valter Lavitola and the group of four arrested men accused of carrying out the attack on the journalist Sigfrido Ranucci. The District Anti-Mafia Directorate is awaiting the French translation of the case files in order to issue an international letter rogatory, a preliminary step towards the extradition request. The investigation aims to reconstruct the contacts and roles within the network involved, but in order to clarify every aspect, the digital analysis of the mobile devices (computers and smartphones – ed.) seized from Lavitola must first be completed. Between late September and early October, the presenter of *Report* may return to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to be interviewed again as a person with knowledge of the facts.
