Palermo: the 4-year-old cousin of the girl who died of diphtheria has also been hospitalised

Palermo, 20 August (LaPresse) – The little boy, a cousin of the girl who died of diphtheria, has also been admitted to the Children’s Hospital in Palermo. The four-year-old is showing the same symptoms as the girl who died, but his condition is not serious: he is understood to have received the first three doses of the vaccine. The Local Health Authority (ASP), in conjunction with the Civico Hospital, has now vaccinated the girl’s three other siblings. The Palermo Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the girl’s death: the body has been seized and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in the coming days.
