Rome, Aug. 16 (LaPresse) – According to Sergio Cola, lawyer for Valter Lavitola, “the records would show that Sigfrido Ranucci had asked for his security level to be increased”. The lawyer also confirmed that the statements made by his client, considered vague by investigators in some passages, “would find corroboration in the versions provided by the other co-defendants”, identified as the perpetrators of the attack but who “still require corroboration”. According to the defense, the latter allegedly claimed that they had not intended to harm Ranucci, a circumstance that would also emerge from the way the attack was carried out. As for the hypothesis of the existence of a possible third level, Cola called it “a mere conjecture”. The lawyer finally explained that, after the attack, Ranucci may have “been able to figure out who the alleged mastermind of the attack was”.
