Milan, 1 August (LaPresse) – The Air Quality Monitoring Service of ARPAV – the Veneto Regional Agency for Environmental Prevention and Protection – reports that on Friday 31 July, the information threshold of 180 micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m³) for ozone was exceeded on Friday 31 July. This threshold is defined by Legislative Decree 155/2010 as the “level above which there is a risk to human health in the event of short-term exposure for certain particularly sensitive groups of the population”, such as the elderly, children, pregnant women and people with respiratory conditions. The maximum hourly value recorded at 2.00 pm at the Parco Bissuola air quality monitoring station – the reference point for assessing ozone levels within the municipal area – was 221 µg/m³.
