Milan, 22 July (LaPresse) – The Italian Red Cross, in a statement, has “once again expressed its condolences and sympathy to the family of Abderrahim Fakir, and its full willingness to cooperate with the investigators and the AUSL – as stated from the outset – to shed full light on the tragic incident that took place on Sunday in Bologna”. Whilst fully respecting the work of the magistrates, we feel it is our duty to reiterate and clarify that, according to the information in our possession – and contrary to what was stated yesterday and reported by some media outlets this morning – the emergency crew performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the patient from the moment they were able to intervene until the arrival of the ambulance, which had been requested from the operations centre by the Italian Red Cross crew themselves just a few minutes after their arrival at the scene. In addition to resuscitation manoeuvres, the crew used the automated external defibrillator (AED) with which they are equipped, which has been handed over to the magistrates,” the statement reads.
