Rome, July 21. (LaPresse) – Reassignment of jurisdiction between the Turin and Milan supervisory courts over the Mario Roggero case. The Milanese judges returned the documents to the Piedmontese capital, holding that Turin should decide on the request for a deferral of the sentence presented by the defense of the jeweler, who was definitively convicted, pending the outcome of his wife’s pardon request. Meanwhile, the lawyers have also filed a new request in Milan. As lawyer Stefano Marcolini explained to LaPresse, “after learning that the documents had been forwarded from Turin to Milan, he reiterated his request for a deferred sentence, sending a certified email to the supervisory judges of the Milan court.”The Milan Surveillance Office, however, sent the case back to Turin, arguing that the jurisdiction belongs to Piedmontese magistrates, because the first request had been submitted while Roggero, 72, was still at large.
