Rome, 17 July (LaPresse) – The scene that greeted the emergency services was harrowing: a 25-year-old woman with a knife still lodged in her back, her clothes completely covered in blood and deep wounds caused by multiple stab wounds. According to information obtained by LaPresse, this is how the race against time began in the early hours of yesterday morning to save the 25-year-old, who was rushed to the Tor Vergata Polyclinic after being stabbed following a violent altercation in the Tor Bella Monaca area. A 19-year-old woman, Asia B., has been arrested in connection with the attack and charged with attempted murder. According to the State Police’s reconstruction of events, the incident took place at around 4 am on Via Francesco Anichini. The victim was taken to hospital by a friend, who rushed to the car after witnessing the attack. On arrival at A&E, the police officers present immediately realised the seriousness of the situation: the young woman had been stabbed four times and a blade was still lodged in her lower back. The injured woman’s friend told the officers that the meeting had been arranged following a series of messages exchanged on social media. The two young women, who had once been friends, had long been at odds over romantic issues involving a boy. Once they reached the agreed meeting place, the argument reportedly quickly escalated into a scuffle. In those frantic moments, the witness reportedly saw Asia Bisello strike her friend with a bladed weapon. Immediately afterwards, she reportedly heard the words: ‘Now you can keep him’, uttered before the suspect fled. Having gathered initial information, the officers began searching for the alleged perpetrator, tracking her down a few hours later at the A&E department of the Policlinico Casilino hospital. The young woman had presented herself to medical staff with a wound to her left hand, initially claiming she had sustained it accidentally whilst cooking. A version of events which, according to investigators, did not stand up to subsequent scrutiny.
